This interactive workshop will leverage Dominion Energy Innovation Center’s (DEIC) expertise to walk attendees through several different examples – both hardware and software – of how early and mid-stage technology companies have successfully navigated from introduction through pilot project with Dominion Energy. Through four years of accelerator programming, DEIC has consistently found that early stage startups, even ones that have multiple sales in the energy industry, have a difficult time converting an initial customer meeting into defined use cases and progress towards pilot opportunities. This workshop will build on DEIC’s lessons learned and highlight successful ways that startups can overcome the common hurdles to a project. Participants will work with DEIC and Dominion Energy staff to hone their value proposition to utility customers.
