Dominion Energy Innovation Center Announces Scholarship Opportunities for Hydrogen Safety Training Workshop

Ashland, VA – The Dominion Energy Innovation Center (DEIC) is excited to announce the availability of five fully funded scholarships to the upcoming Omitz Hydrogen Safety Training workshop. This valuable opportunity is open to all Virginia-based entrepreneurs and innovators currently working on hydrogen startups or those interested in entering the hydrogen industry.

The Omitz hydrogen safety training workshop, scheduled for June 10th in Washington, D.C., is an 8-hour, live, in-person session that will cover the NFPA 2: Hydrogen Technologies Code. Attendees will gain a comprehensive understanding of the safety requirements necessary for hydrogen production, storage, transfer, and usage. The workshop will be led by Phil Clark, a renowned expert in hydrogen safety, who has over a decade of experience at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory.

This workshop is ideally suited for energy entrepreneurs, project developers, engineers, technicians, project managers, and safety professionals involved in hydrogen technologies. Participants will learn to confidently navigate and apply the NFPA 2 standards, ensuring a safe and sustainable hydrogen economy.  All participants will receive a certificate of completion eligible for continuing education credits.

The scholarship offering is part of DEIC’s Greentech Navigator program, which supports climate tech startups in Virginia by connecting them with subject matter experts in key areas like techno-economic analysis, regulatory compliance, and financial management. This program aims to empower startups to navigate the complexities of technology commercialization in the energy industry.
