Dominion Energy Innovation Center Awarded GO Virginia Funding for Strategic Cluster Advancement for Leading Energy (SCALE) Project

Ashland, VA – The Dominion Energy Innovation Center (DEIC) has been awarded $154,391 in GO Virginia funding to study and catalyze advanced energy supply chains through a new project, Strategic Cluster Advancement for Leading Energy, or SCALE. The project is designed to build toward a focused hub for advanced electrical power systems and grid technologies in GO Virginia Regions 4 and 5, which cover much of eastern Virginia, including the Greater Richmond region, the Tri-Cities, and Hampton Roads.

Center Street Pitch Competition – Local entrepreneurs compete for $35,000 in prizes

Ashland, VA – The Dominion Energy Innovation Center (DEIC) and Downtown Ashland Association (DAA) are thrilled to announce the return of the Center Street Pitch Competition, a dynamic event designed to empower local entrepreneurs and ignite innovation. Set to take place on April 10, 2025, at the historic Ashland Theatre, this competition provides an exciting platform for aspiring business owners to present their ideas and compete for over $35,000 in prizes.

Ashland, VA — Energy Tech 2025 returns on March 6, 2025, bringing together thought leaders, innovators, and entrepreneurs to explore the future of energy in the Commonwealth and beyond. Hosted at the Science Museum of Virginia,  this annual event is a must-attend for those shaping the energy landscape.

DEIC Facilitating Partner Matching for VGRIP Program

The Virginia Grid Reliability Improvement Program (VGRIP) is a grant program offering funding from the DOE through Virginia Energy. If you are a startup or company working in this area but not one of the above eligible lead applicants, you can partner up with an eligible lead applicant for a project. DEIC is helping to facilitate matching eligible lead applicants with other companies working in the space to submit proposals. Please complete this form if you represent a startup or company that does not qualify as a lead applicant but are interested in finding a partner with whom to apply.

Dominion Energy Innovation Center Announces 2024 Accelerator Program Participants

Ashland, VA – The Dominion Energy Innovation Center (“DEIC”) has announced the 15 companies participating in its expanded 2024 accelerator program. Five teams will make up the signature DEIC Accelerate utility deployment track, five startups will be part of DEIC’s new Hyperscaled track focused on solutions for both utilities and data centers, and the remaining five will participate in Precursor, DEIC’s new, earlier stage pre-accelerator track.
